But I hate not having a backlit display. I just bit the bullet and ordered a refurbished CX.

Y’know, I still don’t know what all an nSpire can do that my TI-89 Titanium can’t, even after going through an entire Undergraduate Mech Eng curriculum I didn’t use everything the 89 can do.

That said, congrats on your purchase, that thing’s an awesome beast.

I wonder if the fancy one in the post has anti-aliasing for the graph lines. So many jaggies...

That’s the exact model I took from my High School AP Calc class back in ‘07. I still use it today as an Engineer.

That brings back memories of high school. I remember making little designs with the graphing function. Geez that seems like forever ago.

I still have my TI-81,85,86, and 89 (I’m an old). I use my 89 at work, but most other engineers I’ve ever worked with(multiple industries) use HP RPN and I die a little inside anytime I try to borrow their calculators.

I had to google “RPN” and after reading the Wikipedia page for Reverse Polish Notation I’m still scratching my head. Weird stuff.

I’m all about that TI-84 CSE lyfe.

Congrats on your new acquisition! Always thought the the TI-nspire CX looked intriguing.

Nobody learns RPN/RPL anymore? Did TI win the calculator wars? I sat through too many HP/TI debates in school/my career - which is any number greater 0. So much nerd.

I only use it for number crunching now, just because the memory and trig features are more convenient than on a dollar store calculator. Any graphing, and you better believe I’m firing up a spreadsheet.

Again, had to google “RPL”, definitely did not learn Reverse Polish Lisp in college.

Fuck me, I am an English Language major.

Seriously, I’m so bloody screwed.

(But then, I do would like to take a 3D modeling/animation course to make for a worthwhile hobby, so...)

Depending on what software you want to use, I can teach you a bit of 3D modeling!
